Wife Among 11 Charged in Murder of Dhaka Police Constable

Humayun Kabir, a police constable who served as a water cannon operator for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s transport division, was the victim of a calculated murder, according to a police investigation into his 2025 death. His body was initially discovered outside his residence in Doyaganj, Old Dhaka, on April 28 of that year.
Subsequent inquiries revealed that the killing was a premeditated act rather than a random event. Investigators identified the victim’s wife as a key figure involved in the orchestration of the crime.
Following an extensive investigation, Sub-Inspector Awlad Hossain of Jatrabari Police Station filed a formal charge sheet with the court this March. The legal documents name 11 individuals as suspects in connection with the homicide, marking a significant development in the pursuit of justice for the slain officer.
