A laborer’s hand is tied to the roof of the house with a rope. In this situation, someone is beating the worker with a stick. The person who was being beaten said, “I don’t file a case anywhere, I don’t arbitrate anywhere, I do my own justice.”

A video of this incident has spread on social media. It has been learned that the incident happened yesterday in Chungar Guna area of ​​Torabganj Union of Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur.

The man who was being beaten was named Kalu Mia. He is a resident of Charbsu Badamtali Bazar-adjacent area of ​​Char Kadira Union of the same upazila. He worked as a laborer in a brick kiln. And the one who is beating him, his name is Ismail Hossain. He works as a labor supply worker in a brick kiln. He is known locally as Ismail Majhi.

The video spread on social media is 6 minutes and 13 seconds long. Ismail was seen beating throughout. At one stage Ismail ordered Kalu to repeat some words. Compelled, Kalu repeated the words. He is heard saying, ‘Ismail Majhi does not file a case for anyone. Does not arbitrate with anyone. Make your own arbitrage. Judge yourself. Measure it yourself. I will not do this in my life. I will give the compensation to the sailor now. No one does this with Ismail Majhi.’

When asked, the victim Kalu Mia said, “Ismail Majhi and his accomplices took me because I did not go to work at the brickyard. Then tied my hands with a rope and beat me brutally. At one point my family was informed and asked to bring one lakh taka. Because, it has damaged him. I was released after being beaten for not paying. I have filed a case in this incident.

Ismail Hossain absconding since this incident. Multiple calls to his mobile number failed to get through. However, he told some local journalists after the incident that Kalu was paid Tk 80,000 at the beginning of the year for work in a brick kiln in Chittagong. But Kalu is no longer going to work there. They often leave work on various pretexts. So he hanged Kalu with two hands tied. Not too beaten up. A little flogging is done to instill fear.

When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalnagar Police Station Faridul Alam said, ‘Police were sent to the spot immediately after the video spread on social media came to our notice. In this incident, the worker Kalu Mia filed a case as plaintiff. Three people including Ismail Hossain have been accused. An operation is underway to catch them.
