Navana Group Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam arrested in Dhaka

Police arrested Sajedul Islam, vice chairman of the Navana Group, during a pre-dawn operation at his residence in the capital’s Banani neighborhood on Wednesday.
Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, confirmed the arrest, stating that the action was taken in accordance with an active arrest warrant. While the warrant authorized the detention of the executive, Rahman noted that the document did not specify the nature or details of the charges leveled against him.
Following his arrest, Islam was transported to the Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station for processing. Law enforcement sources indicated that due to the lack of specific information within the warrant, the exact circumstances behind the legal proceedings remain unclear at this stage.
Authorities confirmed that Islam was presented before a local court on Wednesday morning following his initial detention.
