Police recover unidentified teenagers body from Padma riverbank in Pabna

Police in Pabna recovered the body of an unidentified teenage girl from the banks of the Padma River on Wednesday morning, sparking an investigation into a suspected homicide. Local authorities discovered the remains, encased in a sack with the victim’s hands bound, near the Balarampur area of the Sadar upazila at approximately 10 a.m.
The victim, estimated to be between 14 and 16 years old, was found wearing a silver chain around her neck. Her identity remains unknown, and officials have launched a forensic effort to confirm who she is and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

The discovery was made by local farmers, who spotted the suspicious sack while heading to work in the riverine chars. Upon noticing the shape suggested the presence of human remains, they promptly alerted local authorities.
Local residents reported seeing a private car occupied by four unidentified men in the area around 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, leading to speculation that the victim may have been assaulted before her body was disposed of in the river.

Officer-in-Charge of the Sadar Police Station, Tarikul Islam, confirmed that a multi-agency operation is underway. Members of the local police, the Detective Branch, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and the Naval Police have been deployed to the scene to conduct a joint investigation into the crime.
