United Business Forum is the winner in all categories

United Business Forum has won 24 director posts in Chittagong Chamber elections. Election Board Chairman Monowara Begum announced the election results after the counting of votes on Saturday afternoon. Earlier on this day, votes were taken for 18 director posts of the chamber. The remaining six were elected unopposed.

After an era, the directors of the Chittagong Chamber were elected by direct vote. After 2013, all committees of this chamber have been held without voting. The total number of voters in the election was 6 thousand 780 people. Out of which 2 thousand 725 votes were cast. This is about 40 percent of the total vote.

There are 4 thousand 1 voters in general category. 1 thousand 843 or about 46 percent have voted. 2 thousand 764 voters in associate category. Voted 882; About 32 percent. A total of 17 booths have received votes this time. A general class voter casts a total of 12 votes and an associate class voter casts 6 votes.

12 from the general category, 6 from the associate category and 3 each from the town association and trade group category were elected 6 directors in the chamber by vote of traders. Thus a 24-member board of the chamber was formed. A president and two vice-presidents were later elected by the elected directors.

According to the sources of the chamber, the election of the presidium of the chamber will be held on Monday at 11:30 am. There the directors will elect the president, senior vice president and vice president of the chamber.

From general category Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury 1 thousand 405 votes, ASM Ismail Khan 1 thousand 374, Abu Haider Chowdhury 1 thousand 364, Md. Amjad Hossain Chowdhury 1 thousand 352, Nasir Uddin Chowdhury 1 thousand 321, Asad Iftekhar 1 thousand 306, Aman Ulla Al Chagir 1 thousand 277, Md. Golam Sarwar 1 thousand 259, Mohammad Habibur Rahman 1 thousand 259, Mohammad Shafiul Alam 1 thousand 249 and Mohammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury 1 thousand 211 votes were elected as directors.

Md. in associate class. Zahidul Hasan 687 votes, Md. Nurul Islam 661 votes, Md. Salim Noor 646, Sarwar Alam Khan 641, Mohammad Moshiul Alam 632 and Mohammad Alauddin Al Azad 618 votes were elected as directors from this category.

In trade group category, Mohammad Akhtar Parvez, Mohammad Amirul Haque and SM Saiful Alam were elected directors unopposed. On the other hand, Afsar Hasan Chowdhury, Mohammad Monir Uddin and Mohammad Puljad Un Nawaz were elected unopposed as directors in the town association category.
