Police have rescued two people who were stuck with a boat in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj. The incident took place in Phuljor river near Char Telizana shelter center of Dhangara union of the upazila on Tuesday around 11:30 pm.
The rescued persons are Shaukat Ali, son of Aynal Sekh, and Abdul Khalek, son of Jabed Ali, of Nishchintpur village of Dhangara union of the upazila.

According to police and local sources, Shaukat Ali and Abdul Khalek went down to the river in a small boat to pick ducks. At this time, the boat got stuck in the thick mud accumulated in the river. They got into trouble in the middle. On receiving the information, the Raiganj police station went to the spot and conducted a rescue operation. They were safely brought ashore at night.
