Bangladesh defeated Singapore in the final

Bangladesh women’s team defeated Singapore in the Asian Games hockey qualifying round and reached the final. Bangladesh is performing well today in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Chinese Taipei and Indonesia will meet in the second semi-final. The final of the tournament will be held tomorrow.

In the eighth minute of the match, Irene Rhea scored a field goal to give Bangladesh the lead. Four minutes later Singapore’s Chia equalized from a penalty corner. Neither team could score in the next quarter. The two teams returned to the dressing room with a 1-1 tie.

There were no goals in the quarter after the break. Both the teams tried to score and failed again and again. Bangladesh scored two goals in the last four minutes of the match. In the 57th and 58th minutes, Rhea completed his hat-trick by scoring two consecutive field goals.

In the last two minutes, Singapore applied pressure on Bangladesh but could not score any goals. Bangladesh left the field with a 3-1 victory. Hat-trick scorer Irene Akhter Riya was awarded the man of the match award.
