A three-month-old baby was killed by his stepfather in Darus Salaam

It has been alleged that a three-month-old baby was killed in front of his mother by holding her face while saying ‘Bachar kanna thama, naile maira falamu’. The mother made this complaint against the child’s stepfather.
This incident took place in Bardhanbari area of Darus Salam police station of the capital on Friday morning. The police have arrested the person named Apurba. The child’s mother, Razia Khatun, filed a murder case against Apurba at Darus Salam police station.

Darus Salam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Zakaria said, Apurva used to live in a rented house with his wife and son. Early in the morning the child was crying in bed next to the mother. At this time, Apoorva threatened his wife that he would kill the child if she did not stop crying. As the baby’s crying did not stop, Apoorva held her face. The child later died of suffocation.
At that time, the children’s mother, Razia Khatun, screamed, people from the neighborhood came and arrested Apurba and handed him over to the police station.

Apurva was in jail in a drug case, said the OC. He was released on bail a week ago. Then he married Razia with a three-month-old child.
The child’s body was recovered and sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for post-mortem.
