Two Killed and Four Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision in Thakurgaon

Two people were killed and four others injured in a three-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck, a motorcycle, and a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the Bhulli Upazila of Thakurgaon on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. on the Panchagarh-Thakurgaon highway in the Kochubari Post Office Para area.

One of the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Anwara Begum, wife of Shahjahan Ali from the Boro Baliya area of Bhulli. The second fatality, a man estimated to be 40 years old, remains unidentified.

According to police and local witnesses, a goods-laden pickup truck traveling from Dhaka to Panchagarh struck an oncoming motorcycle before colliding with a battery-run auto-rickshaw. The impact left seven people injured.

Local residents and members of the Fire Service conducted a rescue operation and transported the victims to the Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital. Anwara Begum and the unidentified man succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the facility.

Authorities have taken the pickup driver, 24-year-old Habibur Rahman, into custody. Rahman is the son of Abdul Hamid from Bishkakuri village in the Purbadhala Upazila of Netrokona.

Nure Alam Siddiqui, officer-in-charge of Bhulli Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that legal proceedings are currently underway.
