Three killed and three injured in Rangamati pickup truck accident

Three people were killed and three others injured early Sunday after a pickup truck overturned in Rangamati Sadar, authorities said.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. in front of the Manikchhari army camp in Sapchhari Union. According to witnesses, the vehicle was traveling from Rangamati town toward Kutukchhari Bazar when the driver lost control, causing the truck to strike a hillside and overturn.
The victims who died at the scene were identified as 45-year-old Megha Rani Chakma from Ghilachhari Union in Naniarchar, 38-year-old Santona Chakma from the Amanatbag area of Rangamati, and 65-year-old Shanti Ranjan Chakma from Bijaynagar.
Emergency responders transported all six passengers, including the driver, to Rangamati General Hospital. Resident Medical Officer Showkat Akbar Khan confirmed that three of the passengers were dead upon arrival.
The injured survivors include 52-year-old Shoba Chakma, 45-year-old Suman Chakma, and the driver, 50-year-old Gyan Bikash Chakma. Medical officials reported that one of the survivors remains in critical condition and has been transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
