Indian national arrested at Dhaka airport with three kilograms of kush

Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) officials arrested an Indian national at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday after seizing three kilograms of kush from his possession. The suspect, 48-year-old Hussain Abdul Kader Sheikh, is a resident of Karnataka, India.
Authorities apprehended the suspect at the airport’s ground-floor arrival hall at approximately 2:00 p.m. acting on intelligence reports. Officials stated that a specialized DNC team monitored the airport’s green channel, where they intercepted Sheikh as he arrived on a Thai Airways flight originating from Bangkok.
During a search conducted in the presence of witnesses and representatives from various airport agencies, officials discovered the narcotics concealed beneath layers of clothing inside a trolley bag.
In addition to the three kilograms of kush, authorities seized an Indian passport, a boarding pass, a mobile phone, 400 U.S. dollars, 1,550 Thai baht, 400 Indian rupees, and a personal identification card from the suspect.
Following the arrest, a case was filed against Sheikh under the Narcotics Control Act. The case was initiated at the Airport Police Station by Sub-Inspector Rokeya Akter of the DNC Dhaka Metro (North) Airport Circle.
