Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties at OIC Meeting in Jeddah

Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to elevating bilateral relations to a higher level, expressing satisfaction over the recent positive trajectory of ties between the two nations.
The pledge was made on Thursday in Jeddah, where Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met with Bangladeshi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During the meeting, the State Minister delivered a letter from Prime Minister Tareque Rahman addressed to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted in a press release that the bilateral relationship has seen significant momentum following a series of high-level diplomatic visits since the current government assumed office. The State Minister highlighted that these exchanges have unlocked new opportunities for comprehensive cooperation and discussed the potential for future high-level visits between the two countries.
Prince Faisal underscored that Bangladesh remains a priority partner for Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening economic ties. He noted the growing interest among Saudi corporations in the Bangladeshi market and expressed a keen intent to expand business engagement and investment.
The Saudi Foreign Minister also took the opportunity to commend the contributions of the Bangladeshi expatriate community to the development of Saudi Arabia.
In concluding the meeting, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs formally invited Prince Faisal to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
