Harbhajan got the title of ‘gaddar’ by joining BJP

Former Indian star cricketer Harbhajan Singh joined BJP on Friday after being with AAP for 15 years. Bhajji and six other MPs defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.

Protesters expressed their anger by writing the word ‘gaddar’, meaning traitor, in black paint on the wall of Harbhajan Singh’s Jalandhar residence. Besides, some workers blindfolded in black cloth and made a symbolic protest.

It is reported that Harbhajan Singh was not present at the house at the time of the incident.

Harbhajan Singh was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha in April 2022. On Friday, he along with seven other MPs, including Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak, announced their resignation and later joined the BJP.

This incident has created a massive reaction in the political circles. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called the defecting MP a ‘traitor’. Later, in a press conference, he complained against BJP and said that they have broken AAP. He also accused the people of Punjab of treason.
