Jamaat-e-Islami leader Akhteruzzaman, who was recently arrested on charges of creating chaos at an airport, was produced before a Dhaka court on Saturday (Oct 5). Upon alighting from the prison van, the accused immediately hurled a helmet and vented his anger toward law enforcement personnel.
During the court proceedings, the Public Prosecutor accused him of undermining the judiciary after Akhteruzzaman reportedly directed disparaging remarks toward the judge, asserting that the verdict would be delivered by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Following the hearing, the court granted a one-day remand for interrogation.
