Candidates who are left out of 45th BCS gazette have conducted placement program. They demand that their names should be included in the supplementary gazette and appointed.
The gazetted people held a sit-in program in front of the Raju sculpture of Dhaka University on Monday from 12 noon to 6 pm. At this time, they made five demands. The demands are announcement of fixed dates for re-gazetted publication; Publication of supplementary gazettes reconsidering the case of candidates who have no legal bar to recruitment; State the reasons for exclusion in writing; Allowing opportunity for defense and disposal of matter in transparent and impartial process.
Moniruzzaman, a candidate recommended for the fisheries cadre in the 45th BCS in the placement program, said he did not know why he was excluded from the gazette. He is mentally broken as he is deprived of his job despite committing no crime. He announced to carry out 'suicide' program on October 23 if no decision or direction is received from the state by next Thursday.
Moniruzzaman is a student of 2015-16 academic year of Bangladesh Agricultural University. He said that he has passed BCS after working hard for four-five years. However, there is no clear answer as to why he has been excluded from the gazette. He has been visiting different people in Dhaka for four or five days.
Moniruzzaman also said, "Why should I be punished without committing any crime?" I don't know what answer I will give to my parents.' He wants to know the reason for their exclusion from the concerned authorities through the media.
Ferdous Khan, another candidate who was deprived of gazette in the program, said that he is not accused in any criminal case. However, he was discriminated against because he was left out of the BCS recruitment gazette. His demand is to end this discrimination immediately and return jobs earned on the basis of merit.
Ferdous Khan also said that they are in contact with various ministries and media since Thursday morning. They are leaving their homes and moving to different places in the hope of justice. Most of them are children of farmers and lower middle class families. Their colleagues are preparing to join the job after the publication of the gazette. But they are spending their days in uncertainty.
Ferdous Khan said, 'We don't want Daya-Dakshinya. I want to get back the job that I got through merit. Requesting the intervention of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, he said that this problem needs to be solved quickly.
