Eight accused arrested in connection with attack and vandalism at Radda Clinic are on 3-day remand

The court granted three-day remand to the eight accused arrested in the case of midnight attack, vandalism and looting at Radda MCH-FP Center in the capital's Mirpur. On Thursday, the investigation officer of the case, Shah Ali police station SI said. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akhter gave this order after the hearing in view of Atwar Rahman's application. DMP Prosecution Division SI Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.

According to court sources, on October 4, the investigation officer applied for a five-day remand of the accused. The court fixed Thursday for hearing.

In the hearing, the lawyers of the accused applied for bail by canceling the remand. On the other hand, the state side heard in favor of remand. After hearing both sides, the court granted remand for three days each. A total of 14 people have been arrested so far in the case filed in this incident.

The remanded accused are Md. Shahadat Hossain (33), Kazi Maqbul Hossain (58), Md. Shah Alam (53), Md. Atiqur Rahman (33), Md. Kamrul Islam (52), Md. Noor Alam (39), Md. Rafiqul Islam Jinnah (35) and Md. Sajjad Hossain (36).
