A physics teacher at Dhaka’s Wills Little Flower School and College is embroiled in a contentious dispute involving a tenth-grade student and the student’s guardian, a judge, following an “unpleasant incident” at the institution earlier this month. The controversy began on April 16, when the teacher reportedly slapped the student for “inappropriate behavior,” subsequently escalating into allegations of professional misconduct and personal humiliation.
The incident unfolded when the physics teacher reprimanded a tenth-grade student for what was described as “inappropriate behavior,” leading the teacher to slap the student. This action sparked immediate unrest and dissatisfaction among both the teaching staff and students at the school.

According to the teacher’s account, the student’s guardian, who is a judge, summoned the teacher to his residence on April 18 and allegedly subjected him to insult and humiliation. This alleged confrontation marked a significant escalation in the dispute, moving beyond the school premises.
Following these events, the judge filed a General Diary (GD) with the police, accusing the teacher of assaulting his son. The GD reportedly claims the teacher struck the student because the boy refused to take private coaching lessons from him.

However, the physics teacher has vehemently denied the allegations outlined in the judge’s GD, specifically refuting the claim that he assaulted the student for declining private tutoring sessions. The unfolding events have drawn attention to the tensions between school discipline, student conduct, and parental involvement in educational institutions.
