Warning signal in seaports, heavy rain forecast in 4 divisions including Dhaka
Meteorological department has issued local warning signal number 3 in four seaports of the country. The organization said, heavy to heavy rain may occur in four divisions including Dhaka today. The sky of the capital is cloudy since morning. It rained a lot. The Met office says that there may be intermittent rain in the capital. However, the sky may clear as the day progresses.
It started raining in different parts of the country from last Sunday. Even today it is raining in different parts of the country including the capital. Deep clouds appeared in the sky.
Kazi Zebunnesa, a meteorologist of the Directorate of Meteorology, told Prothom Alo today that deep convective clouds have appeared. As a result, seaports have been asked to display local warning signal No. 3 due to variations in air pressure. The ports are Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra.
Before Sunday, a heat wave prevailed in most parts of the country, including the capital, for a consecutive week. Public life becomes miserable. Load shedding in various parts of the country adds to this hardship. However, after the rain on Sunday, the heat wave started to decrease. 41 mm of rain fell on Sunday.
According to the daily forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to very heavy rains in some parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions today.
If the rain is 44 to 88 km, it is called heavy rain and if it is more than 88 mm, it is called extra heavy rain.
It has been raining in the capital since this morning. At the time of writing this report at 11:30 am, it was raining.
Meteorologist of the Department of Meteorology. Shahinul Islam said, 8 mm of rain fell in the capital at night and 1 mm from 6 am to 9 am.
