Trying to extort money by talking about Natore family card, one fined

A traveling court has fined a person named Kajal Hossain (45) Tk 5,000 for trying to extort money by telling him to get a family card in Lalpur, Natore.
Lalpur Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Abir Hossain gave this sentence in Amritpara village of the upazila on Sunday night.
Rebekah Begum (45) is the name of the woman from whom money has been tried.
According to the sources of Lalpur police station, Shafiqul Islam came to the victim Rebekah’s house and offered to get the government’s family card. He demanded 10,000 rupees in return. The woman is suspicious of this. He told the matter to some people in the village. Later people came and interrogated him and realized that the person had tried to collect money by cheating. On receiving the information, the police went and arrested the person and brought him to the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). If he pleads guilty there, he is sentenced by a mobile court.
