Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Central Sangsad has issued show cause notices to three leaders of Jahangirnagar University Branch Chhatra Dal for alleged breach of organizational discipline. According to the notice, the Chhatra Dal officials have been ordered to appear in the central office in the presence of the president and general secretary of the Chhatra Dal within the next 48 hours as to why permanent organizational disciplinary action will not be taken against them based on the complaint of organizational breach of discipline. However, the notification has not specifically mentioned why they have been asked to show reasons.
Talking to some leaders of the university branch students’ party, it is said that Salim Reza is accused of trying to set up new shops in Mama Plaza in the marginal gate area of the university. Zahiruddin Mohammad Babar, convener of the branch Chhatra Dal, told Prothom Alo that the Central Chhatra Dal has issued a show-cause notice in view of the specific allegations against the three leaders of the University Chhatra Dal.
However, the bereaved Chhatra Dal leader Salim Reza denied these allegations. He told Prothom Alo on the phone, “I have clarified my position in the press conference in which I have been accused in the incident in the marginal area. I did not cause any such incident. I have not misbehaved with the family of martyrs. My role was the most in Savar area in the July movement. A group has leveled false allegations of conspiracy against me.’
Salim Reza said, “I am not involved in any such incident.” There are groupings in politics, so it is not right to conspire like this. The other two who have been mourned with me are also being plotted against because they are doing politics with me. We are the victims of the media trial.
