Then OC Sohan’s father addressed Shahi Munsi and said, “As a father, you say that you are coming to take your son. You say that you will take responsibility if they do something?”

Then OC Upazila BNP General Secretary Ayub Molla said, ‘Ayub Bhai, you are talking about them. Why are you coming, what do you want to do?’

In reply, Ayub Molla said, ‘I am coming, they are sons of our area. I heard that they have been called to the police station, now if they have done something wrong, we will try to correct it and in the future, we will cooperate with the law enforcement forces in whatever action they take.

Then the OC said, ‘I am clear, brother, as my senior officers will order any kind of law and order deterioration, extortion, torture of the poor – these things will not happen brother. If there is responsibility as you (Ayub Mollah) are coming, you are coming as father (Sohan’s father), you have to take responsibility as secretary of BNP. Are you clear?’

BNP leader Ayub Molla confirmed to Prothom Alo that he went to the police station and talked to the OC to get the two arrested. He claimed that the charge of extortion brought against the two persons was an alleged charge. Ayub Molla said, ‘There is a ganjam with broken buses and counter “Khwadawa” at Tempostand. Another group caught them. We do politics. These are the boys of our area. A group has all types of people, good and bad, in a family. For this, I have told the OC, we will take the initiative to correct them, if not, we will hand it over to you.

When asked about this, OC Mizanur Rahman did not want to comment. However, confirming the truth of the incident, Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (broken circle). Rezwan Dipu told Prothom Alo that the two men were arrested on charges of extorting Tk 30 to Tk 50 from different vehicles from the broken roundabout area. There is no major crime against them. For this, the two have been released on the bond of the BNP leader and their father. How the video got out is being investigated.
