Tariq Rahman makes inaugural visit to Barishal as Prime Minister to launch development initiatives

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman departed from his Gulshan residence on Monday morning for an official visit to Barishal, marking his first trip to the district in his capacity as the nation’s Prime Minister.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to spearhead a series of tree-planting initiatives across the region. His itinerary includes an environmental drive along the newly excavated Sorikol canal in Gournadi’s Batajor union, as well as two additional planting programs near the Trish Godown killing field and the adjacent Sagardi area in the district headquarters.

Beyond these conservation efforts, the Prime Minister will participate in a family card distribution program designed to support local households. He is also slated to attend an organizational meeting hosted at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy.

The afternoon session will be dedicated to a policy dialogue with leaders from the BNP and its affiliated front organizations. This visit is viewed as a significant milestone, representing his first official tour of the Barishal district since assuming the premiership.
