SSC Examinee Hospitalized After Stabbing in Rajshahi

A female student from the Rajshahi Adarsha High School was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds on Sunday after being attacked in the city’s Boalia area. The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m. near the Professorpara area as the student was walking home from school, where she had gone to submit her practical examination notebooks for her recent Secondary School Certificate (SSC) assessments.
Witnesses reported that the student was accosted roughly 200 meters from the school premises. Local sources indicated the assailant was the husband of a classmate who had been accompanying the victim at the time of the attack. Following the assault, which left the victim with stab wounds to her back and arms, the perpetrator fled the scene. Bystanders intervened to transport the teenager to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Shankar Kumar Biswas, a spokesperson for the hospital, confirmed that the victim sustained multiple lacerations from a sharp weapon. Medical staff stated that while the injuries are serious, the student’s condition has since stabilized and she remains under professional care.
School authorities expressed shock following the news. Sadekul Islam, the headmaster of Rajshahi Adarsha High School, stated that the school was unaware of the confrontation until being notified by police. He confirmed that the victim is a student in the humanities department who had recently completed her SSC examinations, noting that she resided in the Talaimari area of the city.
The Boalia Police Station has launched an investigation into the motive and identity of the attacker. Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Islam stated that investigators have been dispatched to the hospital to speak with the victim. Authorities maintain that further details will be disclosed once a statement is obtained, and legal action will follow the identification of the suspect.
