Zahirul Islam is a resident of Oman. He has been in that country for 10 years. During this time he has visited the country only twice. Two years ago, he married Sumaiya, a girl from the same village. Their only child is Yamin.
Zahirul, who arrived in the country a few days ago, is scheduled to return to his workplace in Oman on Thursday morning. He came to Bhairav station from his village home on Tuesday afternoon to take the train to Dhaka with his wife and children to catch the flight.
Zahirul Islam said, “While boarding the train, I felt that I had left the necessary documents to go abroad at home. I said, I can’t go on this train. Went to Bhairav station this afternoon and talked to some shopkeepers on the platform. A shopkeeper named Sohail Mia was on the platform at the time of the incident. He said that there are many passengers in the Titas train. There were many passengers that day too. While hurrying up and down, the child fell out of the mother’s hands.

A few members of the Bhairav Railway Police were present at the time of the accident. After the train left, the father and son were in the custody of the railway police.
Afzal Hossain, Deputy Inspector of Bhairab Railway Police Station, said, “There are four doors on both sides of a compartment. A train has 14 to 15 coaches. We don’t have the manpower to guard 60 doors. As a result, it is not possible to provide full security to the passengers during the flight.
