Son Dies After Electrocution at Home

An e-rickshaw driver died from electrocution while attempting to charge his vehicle in the Jharbari area of Tetulia upazila in Panchagarh on Tuesday night. Abdus Salam, 32, succumbed to the electric shock around 10:30 p.m. at his home.
Salam, who was the son of day labourer Shamsher Ali and the sole earner for his elderly parents, was married with two sons and one daughter. His sudden death has left his family, who relied entirely on his income, in profound distress.

According to Ashraful Islam, a member of Ward 8 of Debnagar Union Parishad, who cited family members and local residents, Salam returned home after a full day of driving his e-rickshaw. As he was connecting the vehicle to a charger before going inside, his mother, Ronjina Begum, heard a scream. Rushing outside, she found him lying unconscious.
Family members and neighbours quickly gathered after hearing their shouts. They rescued Salam and transported him to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, where the attending physician pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman of Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital confirmed that Abdus Salam was brought to the facility already deceased. The incident’s authenticity was also verified by Ashraful Islam, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station.
