Seven days after the child was taken to the doctor, the body was recovered from Bill, the father is absconding

Meraj Mia (24) and Taslima Begum (20) of Manikadi village of Ghazaria union of Kishoreganj’s Bhairab upazila got married two years ago. They are residents of two neighborhoods of the same village. Taslima moved to her father’s house with her son Tanveer (seven months) three weeks ago due to marital discord. Meraj brought the child from his wife seven days ago saying that he would see a doctor if he was sick. After that he did not return the child to his wife and they could not be traced. On Thursday morning, the police recovered the half-melted body of the child from a bill in the village. The child’s father is absconding.
According to local residents, Meraj’s house is in Purangaon neighborhood of Manikadi village in Ghazaria union of Bhairab upazila. Taslima is the daughter of Akhter Hossain of Purvakanda Para of the same village. Meraj was a drug addict. Knowing about his son’s illness, he went to his in-laws’ house and brought his son with him to see a doctor. He did not go to his in-laws’ house that day to bring his son to his wife. The next day, father-in-law Akhtar Hossain went to Meraj’s house and saw that Meraj and Tanvi were not there. No one could find any trace of the two. Meraj’s phone is found switched off. In the village, Meraj sold her son for one lakh rupees for drug money. Last Tuesday, Taslima made a general diary (GD) at Bhairab police station. Around 10 am today, local people saw the body of a child floating in a pond in Purkanda. Later, the police came and recovered the body around noon. Family members identify the child.
Taslima, the child’s mother, said, “After Tanveer was taken from my arms, her father went missing. Many Aisa are talking to me a lot. I don’t believe Meraj is killing my son. His question, the child cannot walk. How did the bill fall into the water?
Limon Bose, Inspector (Investigation) of Bhairab Police Station, said that the body of the child was recovered in a half-melted condition. It is believed that death may occur before four-five days. The body has been sent to Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The search is on for the child’s father. Investigation is going on in this regard.
