Public access to Dhaka University campus is closed from 10 pm

The university administration has imposed restrictions on the entry and movement of vehicles in the Dhaka University campus around Paola Boishakh celebrations. According to a notification of the university, the five entrances of Dhaka University (Shahbagh, Neelkhet, Doel Chatwar, Shahidullah Hall, Udayan School) will be closed for public from 10:00 PM today, Monday (April 13). However, Shahbagh and Neelkhet entrances will be kept open for public from 6 am tomorrow Tuesday (April 14) and Doel Chatwar, Shahidullah Hall, Udayan School entrances after 12 noon.
Apart from that, the movement of vehicles in the campus will be strict from tonight. Teachers, students, officers and employees with valid ID card of Dhaka University can enter through Udayan School without Neelkhet entrance at that time. In a circular signed by the estate manager of the university, Fatema bint Mustafa, the university administration has requested all concerned to follow these instructions.
The circular also states that vehicles with stickers of Dhaka University will enter the campus only in front of Neelkhet and Udayan schools. No vehicles other than emergency vehicles (ambulance, doctors, patients, law enforcement, journalists and fire service vehicles) will be allowed to enter the campus during that time.
Public access to the university premises will be closed again from 5pm on New Year’s Day. During this time, outsiders can leave the campus and cannot enter. This instruction will be in force till 12 midnight.
According to the notification, all the activities held in the open space of the campus must be completed by 5 pm on Tuesday (April 14). After this time no activities can be organized in the open space.
