The average life expectancy of people worldwide is increasing day by day. With the increase in life expectancy, the number of Parkinson’s patients is also increasing, which is becoming a major challenge in the medical field. Therefore, the burden of this disease can be reduced to a large extent by early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
The speakers said these things in the discussion meeting at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College in the capital on Saturday (March 11) morning.
On the occasion of World Parkinson’s Day 2026, this discussion meeting and colorful rally was organized. Spontaneous participation of doctors, students and health workers can be observed in this day-long program.

Parkinson’s disease is a type of neurodegenerative disease. It is believed that this disease occurs when the cells that make dopamine in the brain are damaged. The primary feature of this disease is the accumulation of presynaptic proteins in the nerve.
