One more child died with symptoms of measles in Mymensingh Medical

A three-and-a-half-month-old child died in the Measles Isolation Ward of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with symptoms of measles. 28 new children have been admitted in the last 24 hours. Currently 84 children are under treatment in the hospital.
The dead child’s name is Arisha. He is the son of Arafat Hossain and Ruma Akhtar of Harirampur village of Trishal upazila of the district. After being admitted to the hospital with symptoms of measles on April 21, he died on Saturday around 2:30 pm while undergoing treatment.
The hospital authorities said that 28 children were newly admitted to the Measles Isolation Ward of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with symptoms of measles between 8 am yesterday and 8 am today. A total of 856 children have been admitted with measles symptoms since March 17 till this morning. Among them, 755 children were discharged from the hospital. 17 children died. Currently 84 children are under treatment. In the last 24 hours, 33 more children have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Assistant Director (Administration) Mohammad Mainuddin Khan said, a 3-and-a-half-month-old child died with new symptoms of measles within 24 hours. In addition to measles symptoms, the child had pneumonia. Another 28 children were admitted with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours.
