Former Chhatra Dal leader arrested by the army while smuggling rice

Zakaria Chowdhury Ratan, the former deputy general secretary of Dealer District Chhatra Dal, had been working nine to six for a long time to distribute rice for the government's food-friendly program in Lakhai, Habiganj. Over the past few days, criticism has started in the area for such allegations against him.

Finally, the army caught him red-handed while smuggling three sacks of rice in Habiganj city last Sunday afternoon. Zakaria Chowdhury Ratan is the son of deceased Kachir Mia of Karab village.

According to local sources, Zakaria Chowdhury had been doing irregularities since the appointment of the dealer. He often imbibed rice without regularly distributing it to the beneficiaries.

It is alleged that he had smuggled rice to Habiganj city before this. Last Sunday afternoon, he was trying to smuggle three sacks of rice from Kadmatoli area of ​​Karab village by tomtom (easy bike) and the army arrested him red-handed.

Later the matter was informed to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Murad Islam confirmed the matter and said, "We are investigating whether there is more rice somewhere or not." We will write to the higher authority to cancel his license.''
