A 21-year-old printing press worker was brutally murdered Tuesday in the Sachibunia Schoolvita area of Khulna, marking a violent escalation in a long-standing personal feud. Kazi Rashidul Islam, a resident of Krishnanagar in the Batiaghata sub-district, was lured from his home by acquaintances around midday before being attacked by assailants who inflicted multiple severe stab wounds. Local residents discovered the victim and rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

According to Officer-in-Charge Syed Mosharraf Hossain of the Labanchara Police Station, investigators suspect the killing is rooted in a bitter vendetta. Rashidul, who had previously served time in prison, met an inmate named Imran during his incarceration. Following his release, Rashidul developed a relationship with Imran’s wife and eventually married her after Imran was returned to custody on separate charges eight months ago.

The tensions surrounding this union have turned deadly on multiple occasions. Last March, gunmen stormed Rashidul’s family home, shooting and injuring his father, mother, brother, and his wife, Fahima. Following that attack, Fahima identified her former husband, Imran, as the mastermind behind the home invasion.

Rashidul’s father, Kazi Anisur Rahman, stated outside the hospital morgue that he believes the same individuals responsible for the March shooting are behind his son’s homicide. Local police confirmed that the victim’s body remains at the hospital morgue pending further examination. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are continuing an investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
