Jahangirnagar University Student Leaders Home Attacked Following Criticism of Lawmaker

Authorities in the Noakhali-6 constituency are investigating reports of an attack on the family residence of Jahangirnagar University Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader Abdul Gaffar, known locally as Jisan, following his public criticism of a high-ranking lawmaker.
According to the victim’s account, the incident in Hatiya was carried out by supporters of the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) as retaliation for a social media post. Jisan had alleged that local Member of Parliament Abdul Hannan Masud was involved in a financial deal valued at 30 million taka.
The accused lawmaker has categorically denied the allegations, characterizing the reported attack and the preceding social media claims as a politically motivated fabrication designed to damage his reputation.
Law enforcement officials confirmed they have visited the site to assess the damage and conduct a preliminary investigation. Police have instructed the victim to submit a formal written complaint to facilitate further legal proceedings.
