A young man was stabbed to death due to a conflict between two parties in Badarganj of Rangpur. The incident took place at Ambier Mor area of ​​the municipality on Tuesday around 4 pm. Police arrested a young man in this incident.

Deceased Ariful Islam (30) resident of Pathanpara area of ​​Badarganj municipality. He was a van driver by profession. The detained Jamal Hossain (22) is a resident of Lichubagan area of ​​Badarganj municipality.

Citing eyewitnesses, police of Badarganj police station said that five people including Mominul went to attend a case in Rangpur court. Opponent Firoz Shah attacked them in the court premises. Three people including Mominul were injured. Returning from Rangpur to Badarganj, there was a clash between the two sides again.

According to the police, Mominul and his party members started looking for Feroze and his associates with indigenous weapons. At one stage they attacked Feroze’s house. Later around 4 pm Feroze and his accomplices attacked the van driver Ariful of Pathanpara village of the municipality. Locals took Ariful seriously injured to Badarganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badarganj Police Station Hasan Zahid Sarkar said that the police visited the scene after receiving the information. The body of the deceased was recovered and brought to the police station. The body will be sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem on Wednesday. One person has been arrested in this incident. The case is under process.
