An important part of the tax system in Bangladesh is the TIN or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) certificate.  This certificate becomes mandatory for taking bank loans, conducting business, getting various government financial benefits or submitting income tax returns.  Nowadays the entire process can be easily done online.

What is tin certificate?

TIN Certificate is basically a unique number for a taxpayer, which is used to identify him in the national revenue system. It acts as a kind of taxpayer identification card. Currently 12-digit digital TIN is in operation, which is known as e-TIN through online.

Tin certification usually requires National Identity Card, an active mobile number and email as required or RJSC number in case of company. A person can tin only once in a lifetime, so it is very important to provide correct information at the time of registration.

In order to tin online, first one has to enter the designated website of NBR and open a user ID. There you have to complete the registration with the necessary information including username, password, mobile number. After that the account has to be activated with the activation code available on the mobile.

Next step is to login and go to tin application option and select registration or re-registration. After that you have to fill personal information including taxpayer type, source of income, address, national identity card number. After verifying all the information and submitting the application, the TIN number will be generated automatically.

Teen certificate can be downloaded online if the application is successful. Even if lost in future, it is possible to re-download by logging in with the same ID.

All in all, it has become easier, faster and hassle-free than ever before for tax payers to get TIN Certificate through this digital system.
