Heavy rain in various places including Dhaka, may last for several days, said the Meteorological Office
It rained heavily in different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka on Monday. On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the official holiday has started from today. People have already started moving from the capital to their village homes. Meanwhile, this rain has caused suffering in many places. But the rain has given some relief in the scorching heat. Sources of the Meteorological Department said around two o’clock today that the clouds may clear in the capital by afternoon. Rain may increase in Noakhali and Comilla areas. However, the rain may be less tomorrow on Tuesday.
Sources from the Meteorological Department said that 49 mm of rain has fallen in the capital alone between 12 noon and 1 am today. Heavy rain is considered when an area receives 44 to 88 mm of rain.
But not only in the capital, Mymensingh received 47 mm, Bogra 61 mm, Rangpur 40 mm and Tangail 60 mm.
Meteorologist of the Department of Meteorology. Tariful Newaz Kabir told Prothom Alo that there may be rain till this evening, especially in the south-eastern region. Among them are Noakhali and Comilla.
Meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir said that there is a possibility of rain in many places of Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions in the next 24 hours from this evening. He said that there may be rain in some places of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions tomorrow. But it may not rain like today. He said that the rain may increase again next Wednesday.
