Authorities in Mirsarai have opened a murder and rape investigation following the death of a 21-year-old college student, a case her family contends was a premeditated crime disguised as a motorcycle accident. The victim, who resided at a student hostel in Feni, died on June 7 after being transported to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

The victim’s family formally filed a complaint with the Mirsarai police station on June 9, alleging that the young woman was raped and murdered before her assailants staged a roadside accident to cover their tracks. The family’s suspicions were piqued when they observed the condition of the victim’s body, noting that the physical trauma appeared inconsistent with a motorcycle crash and that her clothing had been altered.

According to the police report, the incident unfolded on the afternoon of June 7 when the victim departed Feni by motorcycle with a man identified as 27-year-old Md. Tanvir. Later that afternoon, the victim’s companions reported that she had fallen from the vehicle near Sufia Road in Mirsarai. Following the initial report, she was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to the medical college, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The legal complaint names Md. Tanvir and 25-year-old Ashraf Uddin as primary suspects, along with four to five unidentified individuals. The suspects are reported to be residents of the Comilla and Feni districts. The victim’s father has publicly demanded a thorough investigation, asserting that his daughter was taken to a secluded area, assaulted, and killed by the group.
