Everyone including UN Secretary General should resign: Anu Muhammad

Professor Anu Muhammad has commented that US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are supposed to be in jail but the whole world is burning with their ‘arrogance’. Questioning why the United Nations exists, he said that the United States does not recognize the United Nations and the International Court of Justice. In the current situation of the United Nations, everyone including its Secretary General should resign.

Professor Anu Muhammad said this while participating in a protest rally in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh in the capital on Friday afternoon. The rally was organized by Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani Parishad against the military aggression of the United States and Israel in Iran and the imperialist banditry in the country.

Participating in the rally, Professor Anu Muhammad said, ‘The occupation of the United States is a continuation. We know how British, French, Portuguese established colonial rule. US imperialism is the continuation of that colonial rule. In that sequence, their occupation, through the attack on Iran, has gained a terrible and incredible level.

Referring to a quote from German left-wing leader Rosa Luxemburg, Anu Muhammad said, the longer capitalism-imperialism persists, the more it will be destructive, the more brutal it will be. As the leader of the imperialist world system, the United States is showing how brutality is created….The US Congress, the Senate, is doing whatever it wants with the strength of the majority. Congress did not authorize an attack on Iran. Even in the United States, millions of people go to the streets and say, we don’t want a king. Trump is using it like a king.

Professor Anu Muhammad said, “Venezuelan is wreaking havoc by attacking him one after another during peace negotiations with Iran.” Arrogantly saying that tonight will end a civilization. Saying with a smile that will send it to the stone age. Trump is doing whatever he wants, what is the system in the world where he can say these things? Where are the institutions, where is the United Nations? In the current situation of the United Nations, everyone including its Secretary General should resign. What is the purpose of the United Nations?’

Anu Muhammad pointed out that the United States does not recognize the United Nations and the International Court of Justice and that international human rights organizations have become ineffective. The International Court of Justice has declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a war criminal. Trump is a convicted felon in a US court. Trump has been sued for everything from sexual harassment to financial corruption. Trump should be in jail now. Netanyahu should also be in jail. Those who should be in jail are setting the whole world on fire with such arrogance.

Bhasani Parishad leader Haroon Or Rashid presided over the rally. Another leader of the Parishad, Zulfikar Ali, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) presidium member Ragib Ahsan, BASD (Marxist) Central Executive Forum member Jaydeep Bhattacharya and others addressed the gathering.
