Elderly woman killed in hit-and-run incident in Dhaka’s Lalbagh

An unidentified woman, estimated to be approximately 60 years old, was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle in the Ghorapatti area of Lalbagh, Dhaka.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to Anisur Rahman, a sub-inspector at Lalbagh Police Station, the woman was struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene immediately after the collision. The victim, who was found wearing tattered, soiled clothing, succumbed to her injuries at the site.

Police arrived shortly after the incident to secure the area and recover the body. Following preliminary legal procedures and a scene investigation, the body was transported to the Dhaka Medical College morgue at approximately 9:00 p.m. for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities are currently working to identify the victim and trace the vehicle involved in the fatal accident. Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
