An allegation of rape of a 14-year-old girl has been made against the duo while taking them for a walk to Goaland in Rajbari. This incident happened last Saturday night. Local people caught a young man with a motorcycle at night and handed it over to the police. He will be sent to court on Monday.

Nahidul Islam (20) is a resident of Goland upazila. He is a 12th standard student of a local college. In this incident, the girl’s mother has filed a case against women and children under the Prevention of Torture Act at Goland Ghat police station on Sunday evening.

According to local people, the girl studies in seventh grade in a school in the upazila. A few months ago, she developed a love relationship with Raihan Sheikh. Raihan and Nahidul went to meet the girl on Saturday night and talked about going out. Two friends raped the girl. Fearing not to tell anyone about the incident, they went to drop the girl in the area around 12 o’clock last night. Local people arrested Nahidul, beat him and kept him in the area.

Accused Nahidul Islam claims that his friend Raihan raped the girl. She tried to rape, but failed.

Local Matubbar Farid Munsi said, ‘Local people caught a girl and a boy and brought them to my house around 12:30 pm. After learning about the incident from them, the two families initially tried to resolve the matter but failed. When the matter was reported to the police yesterday morning, the police came and took them.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Goaland Ghat Police Station. Safiqul Islam said that the local people arrested the young man along with the motorcycle and handed it over to the police on the charge of gang rape of the girl. The girl’s mother became the plaintiff and filed a case against Raihan and his friend Nahidul under the Prevention of Torture against Women and Children Act. The girl will be sent to Sadar Hospital today for health examination. The police are working to catch the main accused Raihan.
