Ali, a day laborer who came to Narsingdi in search of work, died after being hit by a train

A day laborer named Ali Noor (56) was killed when he was hit by the Coastal Express train while crossing the railway line at Narsingdi. His body was recovered by the railway police from Basail railway crossing of the city yesterday at seven o’clock in the evening. PBI identified his identity by collecting fingerprints at night.
Ali Noor is a resident of Madan Upazila in Netrakona. He recently came to Narsingdi in search of work.
According to the railway police and several local sources, Ali Noor was carelessly crossing the railway line at the Basail railway crossing area of the city yesterday at 5:30 pm. At that time, he was knocked down by the Noakhali-bound Antanagar Coastal Express train. He died on the spot due to injuries in various parts of his body including head.
On receiving the information, the members of Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost went to the spot and recovered Ali’s body at around seven in the evening. After preparing the surathal report, the body was taken to the outpost.
Ali’s family has been contacted after identification, Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost Deputy Inspector Dilip Chandra Sarkar said. He said, the body has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Further legal action in this regard is pending.
