The flagship diagnostic and consultation center, located in Dhaka’s Mirpur-10, was inaugurated last Wednesday by Akij Resources Chairman Faria Hossain, marking the group’s strategic expansion beyond its established interests in construction, consumer goods, technology, and services.

The facility integrates artificial intelligence-driven diagnostic technology with professional medical oversight to provide a comprehensive suite of laboratory testing services. Designed to enhance patient convenience, the center features automated vital sign monitoring and a streamlined home sample collection service. Officials emphasize that the institution aims to bridge the gap in local medical diagnostics by combining high-precision German laboratory technology with digital reporting systems.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chairman Faria Hossain noted that the investment reflects the company’s commitment to long-term national development. She stated that as the country continues to make economic strides, access to high-quality healthcare has become a critical necessity, prompting the conglomerate to prioritize the health sector in its latest investment cycle.

The center offers a full spectrum of medical services, including specialist consultation chambers, online appointment scheduling, and internationally standardized laboratory testing. Abu Zafar Iqbal Ahmed, Chief Business Officer of Akij Mediplex Limited, highlighted that the facility is engineered to provide patients with reliable and rapid diagnoses through a model that balances advanced technology with empathetic, human-centered care.

The opening ceremony was attended by several senior executives from Akij Resources, including Chief Business Development Officer Taufiq Hasan, Deputy COO Sohanur Rahman Sohan, and Cluster CFO Ashfaq Chowdhury.
