After killing his wife, the husband called the neighbor and asked him to retrieve the body and ran away

After suffocating his wife in Gazipur’s Sreepur Upazila, the husband called a neighbor and requested her to retrieve the body and fled. The police recovered the body of the housewife named Jharna Akhter (16) from a house in Janglapara area of Beraiderchala village of Sreepur Municipality on Saturday around 10:30 pm.
Neighbors said that the deceased Jharna Akter is the daughter of Hamidul Islam of Janglapara village. Two years ago by his own choice. Marries a young man named Apu. Apu is a minibus driver by profession. After their marriage, they were staying at Masud Mia’s house in Janglapara area. Jharna’s body was recovered from a locked room on the second floor of the house.
The owner of the house, Lovely Akhter, said that Apu called Tanya, the other tenant of the house, on her mobile phone yesterday evening. He said on the phone that he killed his wife Jharna and someone should recover the body. Later, when the police were informed, they came and recovered Jharna’s frozen body from the locked room.
Jharna’s father Hamidul Islam said that Jharna and Apu got married two years ago. Jharna had no contact with the family since then. Last night he was informed that the dead body of the girl was recovered from the room of the rented house. Hamidul thinks that Apu killed his daughter and ran away. He demanded justice in this incident.
Mohammad Nashir Ahmed, officer in charge of Sreepur police station, said that after receiving the information, the police broke the door of the locked room and recovered the body. The body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for post-mortem after preparing the report. The accused husband Apu is absconding since the incident. Efforts are on to arrest him and legal action is pending in the matter.
