A rickshaw puller was hacked to death due to a dispute over breaking the boundary wall

A bloody body of a rickshaw puller was recovered in Meherpur. The family claims that one of his relatives hacked him to death in front of his wife for breaking the boundary wall. The incident took place in Sheikhpara of Meherpur town on Tuesday evening.
The deceased Golam Hossain (46) is the son of Yasin Ali of that area. The name of the accused is Samirul Islam. He is the cousin of Ghulam Hussain.
According to police and family sources, on May 2, on the way home in a rickshaw, Golam Hossain caused a part of the boundary wall of the neighbor Banya Khatun’s house to break. There was an argument between them. Later Golam Hossain repaired the wall on his own initiative. However, a new dispute arose between them over the installation of a tin gate.
According to eyewitnesses and relatives, when Golam Hossain was leaving with a rickshaw yesterday afternoon, Banya Khatun blocked his way and pressed him to fix the gate. At one stage Banya locked the rickshaw and called Samirul on the mobile phone to the spot.
On hearing the news, Samirul Hansua came to the scene and argued with Golam Hossain on the side of Flood. At one point, Samirul was angry with Golam. At that time, Samirul ran away when his wife Alya Khatun and local people came forward.
Golam Hossain was rescued and taken to Meherpur General Hospital in a serious condition. The doctor declared him dead there.
After the incident, the accused Samirul was absconding, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Meherpur Sadar Police Station Humayun Kabir said, operations are underway to arrest him. The case is being prepared in this case. The body has been kept at the morgue for post-mortem.
