A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in the capital’s Abdullahpur

A pedestrian named Anwar Hossain (55) was killed after being hit by a bus in Abdullahpur of the capital. He used to supply water to a fish pond in that area.
This accident happened around 11 o’clock today Saturday. The house of deceased Anwar is in Garmahasthan village of Shibganj upazila of Bogra. Although the family was in the village, he lived in Abdullahpur area.
Shahinur Islam, the nephew of deceased Anwar, said that Anwar had dinner at a hotel near Abdullahpur bus stand after finishing his work this morning. A passenger bus of Islam Paribahan hit him while crossing the road after eating. In this, he fell and was crushed under a battery operated rickshaw and was seriously injured. Later local people seized the bus but its driver escaped.
Shahinur Islam also said that Anwar was rescued and taken to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Uttara. From there, he was taken to the Kurmitola General Hospital and in the last afternoon, when he was taken to the emergency department of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he was declared dead by the doctor on duty.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. Farooq said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
