The court has sent a man to jail on the charge of looting Tk 19 lakh and injuring some people by firing blank bullets at the Kadmatoli police station area of ​​the capital. Asaduzzaman Sabbir Mia is an engineer by profession. He is the nephew of Jamaat-e-Islami Member of Parliament (MP) Zainul Abedin from Dhaka-4 Constituency.

In view of the inquiry officer’s application, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin Asaduzzaman rejected the bail application and ordered to send him to jail. However, in this case another accused named Rabu Mia surrendered and got bail. Deputy Inspector (SI) Moazzem Hossain of the Prosecution Department confirmed this information.

Earlier, RAB-10 arrested Asaduzzaman from Alambagh area of ​​New Jurain on Tuesday around 7 pm. The investigating officer of the case, SI Zahirul Islam of Kadmatoli police station, requested to present him in court and keep him in jail.

On this day, lawyer Abdur Razzak for the accused held a hearing in the court asking for bail. In the hearing, he said that the accused is innocent. He has been booked for harassment. He and his family have been framed to humiliate him. If bail is granted, the accused will not abscond.

It is said in the case, on the afternoon of May 6, the victim businessman Md. Hasan and others were going in a private car. Accused persons gathered in Kadmatoli police station area and blocked their way. They attacked with native sharp weapons, firearms and switch gears (knives) and created panic by firing blanks with pistols. The assailants dragged the victims out of the vehicle, beat them up and hit them with sharp weapons.

It is also said in the details of the case that in the attack Md. Five to seven people including Hasan, Roni, Motaleb and Nayan were injured. At that time, the attackers took 19 lakhs from businessman Hasan in the car. Later the injured persons were rescued and admitted to the hospital for treatment. In this incident, Hasan, the victim, filed a case at Kadmatoli police station on May 7. In the case, 20-25 people have been named as unknown accused including 19 people.

Zainul Abedin, Member of Parliament of Dhaka-4 Constituency, told Prothom Alo on the phone around 11:30 pm on Wednesday, “The person concerned is my nephew.” However, he has nothing to do with this incident. He came here to participate in the voting process during the National Assembly elections. That’s when he becomes a target for a party. He was not even present at the incident in question. My nephew is the victim of the rotten politics of the conflict between the plaintiff and accused number 1 in this case.
