‘Bow Cat Show 2026’ was held for the first time at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAKRBI). On the occasion of International Pet Day, it was organized under the initiative of ‘Pet Lovers of Bow’ organization. Professor AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of the University, inaugurated the program at the university’s helipad at five o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday.

The Vice-Chancellor said, ‘The sincerity shown by Bangladesh Agricultural University as a pet sponsor is really commendable. We hope that such arrangements will be regular. Those who are cat lovers should follow scientific guidelines and advice on proper care of animals, so that the family environment is beautiful and entertaining and the bond of love between animals and humans is stronger.’

Then begins the most interesting part of the event, the Cat Ramp Walk, which enlivens the entire event. One by one, cat lovers took to the ramp with their beloved pets and created a unique atmosphere through creative decorations. Some cats wore colorful clothes, some had colorful stylish belts around their necks, and some cats had small black glasses or pink frames on their eyes. The stalls were decorated with various aesthetic materials to decorate the cats. Everything from cat food to grooming was kept there. These stalls were set up by Professor’s Pet Care and ACI Animal Health.

As part of the programme, free advice and treatment is provided for fostering cats. Apart from this, on the occasion of International Pet Day, Professor’s Pet Care organized free rabies vaccination for cats to raise awareness about rabies and prevent it from spreading from pets to humans. A total of 33 cats were vaccinated against rabies.

At the end of the ramp walk, a total of nine cats were awarded and certificates were distributed in three categories: Domestic, Mix and Foreign.

About the purpose of the program, the president of Pet Lovers of Bau, Mr. Krishibid. Atiqur Rahman said, this is the first time that the Bow Cat Show has been organized by the Bow Pet Lovers in Bangladesh Agricultural University. Here are the cat ramp walks as segments and decorate as you like. The current Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tariq Rahman, is a cat lover. He has arranged a pet clinic and pet ambulance for cats. Atiqur Rahman said, ‘We want Bangladesh Agricultural University to act as a role model, where we will love all pets like human beings and think of them as part of our family. We want every soul in the world to get love and affection.
