72-hour ultimatum to the police to arrest the attackers of two journalists in Chapainawabganj

The police have been given a 72-hour ultimatum to arrest the main accused in the case of the attack on two journalists in Chapainawabganj. This warning was given from the protest rally held in front of Chapainawabganj District Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.

At that time, journalist leaders said that even after six days of the incident, the police failed to arrest the attackers. If the accused failed to be arrested within 72 hours, a sit-in program was announced in front of the office of the Superintendent of Police.

The protest meeting was organized under the banner of Chapainawabganj journalist society around 11:30 am. A protest meeting was held simultaneously in other four upazilas of the district on the same demand.

Speakers at the protest meeting said that Channel One representative Tarek Rahman and My TV representative Tarek Aziz were victims of a terrorist attack at Batenkhan junction in Chapainawabganj city last Thursday night. On that night, the terrorist listed by the police at Sadar Model Police Station. A case was filed against two named rabbis and 8-10 others. But the police are yet to arrest the attackers.
