Another leader used to instigate conflict between Siddiqui and Khan family in Tangail, audio went viral on Facebook

An audio recording of the telephone conversation of Golam Kibria alias Bara Moni, former vice-president of Tangail city branch of Awami League and former secretary general of District Bus-Minibus Owners Association, has gone viral. Discussions are going on all over the district about that record which spread on social media Facebook last Sunday night.
It is said in that conversation that the late president of Tangail district branch of Awami League, Fazlur Rahman Khan (Farooq) used to create conflict between the once influential Siddiqui family and the Khan family in the politics of the district. And taking advantage of the conflict between these two families, he single-handedly ran the party.
After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024, Fazlur Rahman Khan went into hiding. He died in October that year. He was also the chairman of the district council. His son Khan Ahmed Shubo was a Member of Parliament from Tangail-7 (Mirzapur) Constituency.
In that conversation, Golam Kibria said that Fazlur Rahman Khan narrated to him (Kibria) how Fazlur Rahman Khan used to create conflict between the two families. Golam Kibria quoted Fazlur Rahman as saying the same thing to the person on the other end of the telephone conversation. However, the person on the other end of the telephone could not be identified.
Talked to Golam Kibria on WhatsApp about this on Monday night. He said he is in Germany. The audio recording of him is circulating on social media. He said, “Tangail District Awami League President and General Secretary passed away after August 5, 2024. They have adopted many methods to establish their leadership and authority which have been detrimental to the party. I hope that those who will come to the leadership of the district Awami League in the future will build the structure of Bangabandhu’s ideals without dividing the party for personal interests.
In that record, Golam Kibria said, “Listen brother, say one thing, whatever we do, Farooq Saab is fundamentally opposed to the politics of the Khan family.” Let me explain to you, you will understand. Farooq Saab himself said to me, “Look, I am a man. I live in Thanapara. I am not a gangster, badmaish, drinking anything; but I am dancing Tangail District Awami League.”
Then Ghulam Kibria is heard saying, ‘Who is this guy (Fazlur Rahman Khan)? Listen, “I have never allowed Latif Siddiqui to become a member of the district Awami League. I am Farooq, who is playing between the Khan family and the Siddiqui family. Because, if the Khan family and the Siddiqui family unite, a Farooq like me would wear a gata (hole). Either the Siddiqui family would have been senior, the Khan family would have been junior. Or the Khan family would have been senior. Mannan sub, Shamsur Rahman Khan would have been senior. If Latif Siddiqui was the president, he would have been the general secretary. I did not allow him to do so. The leader of the Awami League came.
