60-year-old man arrested for rape of 8-year-old child in capital’s Kala Bagan
An eight-year-old child has been accused of rape in Kalabagan area of the capital. The police have arrested a neighbor in his 60s on this charge. Today Saturday he was sent to jail through the court.
According to the police, last Friday around 9:30 pm, the person lured the child to his house and raped her. The child was taken to the one-stop crisis center of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and sent home after health check-up.

Kalabagan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Ashiq told Prothom Alo on Saturday night that the incident took place in a house on North Circular Road in Kalabagan area on Friday. In this incident, the child’s mother filed a complaint with the police station. The person arrested in that case confessed to the rape.
Narrating the incident, Fazle Ashiq said that the accused lived with the family of his brother. The child victim is his neighbor’s child. The child was playing in front of the house on the night of the incident. At that time, he lured the child to the house and raped her. The man opened the door when the child screamed. After that, the people around realized the matter and arrested the accused person and informed the police station.
