1 killed after being hit by a truck in Shanir Akhra area of Jatrabari in the capital

The accident happened at around one o’clock in the morning on Sunday. Deceased Sajjad Shakib’s house is on Alamin Road in Konapara area of Demra. His father’s name is Abdus Salam. He was a transport worker by profession.
According to police and local sources, a speeding truck hit Shanir while crossing the road in Akhra area. He was seriously injured.

The people around rescued him and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead around 1:30 am.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari police station. Mahmudul Hasan said that the truck was impounded after the accident, but the driver escaped.

Sajjad Shakib’s body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for post-mortem.
